Variable Velocity Performance Group presents "InsideOut" a brand new Contemporary Dance Concert for 2012. Directed by Diana Stanton and Jude Clark Warnisher, this evening of original work explores the compelling phenomenon of the soloist in performance, and the relentless physicality of the athlete.
Two new group dances by both choreographers demonstrate the innovative craft and movement invention that characterizes the company. Warnisher pursues the curious forces in the spaces between people, and in “Torque,” Stanton highlights the drama of action and our innate ability to generate power from within. In Stanton and Warnisher’s collaborative duet, “Between Then and When,” light becomes partner to the dancers. Experimental design delineates the boundaries between the real and the imagined.
Always the risk takers with multi – media, Variable Velocity promises unique dances for the camera as well as other antics and surprises. With a playful approach to performing and artistic experimentation, Variable Velocity guarantees its audiences an evening that will delight and satisfy.
