DESCRIPTION:The Spring Jazz Concert —  part of the Cal Poly Band and Orchestra Festival — will feature selections exploring the diverse styles that have influenced 20th and 21st century jazz performance.From swing and hard bop to Latin American and Caribbean traditions, soul and funk — the program highlights the music of prominent composers, arrangers and bandleaders whose contributions continue to shape jazz today. The concert will include performances by the University Jazz Band, Jazz Lab Band, and jazz combos, as well as original compositions and arrangements by Cal Poly students.
