The Cal Poly Arab Music Ensemble Fall Concert will feature special guest artists and a diverse program of music and dance from the Eastern Mediterranean and larger region.
The concert will feature selections of especially celebrated instrumental, vocal and poetic repertoire involving deeply rooted art-music genres, music traditions dating to the Ottoman era, and popular classics. It will feature pre-composed forms and improvisation and will include vocal and instrumental soloists. The Arab Music Ensemble includes a choir singing in Arabic and historically interconnected languages and a multi-instrumental orchestra that combines indigenous and adapted instruments.
